BYD has published official photos of the new BYD Yuan UP crossover, which is preparing to enter the market. Before this, the car was shown in camouflage.
The smallest crossover in BYD's Yuan family is built on e-Platform 3.0 architecture. The BYD Yuan UP follows BYD's updated Dragon Face design language, which is similar to the previously launched BYD Song L. It features a rugged front bumper, Yuan signature logo, extended LED headlights, blacked-out pillars, flush door handles, fancy plastic trim on the lower body and five-spoke wheels. Yuan UP received one taillight and a roof spoiler.
BYD Yuan will be available in two versions with different power reserves - from 301 to 401 km on the CLTC cycle. This compact crossover measures 4310 mm in length, 1830 mm in width and 1675 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2675 mm. The car is based on BYD's e-Platform 3.0 electric platform.
Visually, the new BYD Yuan UP will feature a “floating” roof and semi-hidden door handles. It is also equipped with a panoramic sunroof and 16- or 17-inch wheels.
The car will be equipped with an electric powertrain with 95 or 176 hp. and a lithium iron phosphate battery pack with a capacity of 31 or 54.1 kWh. The maximum speed will be limited to 160 km/h.
Its starting price is expected to be just $14,000. The manufacturer expects it to become BYD's new bestseller.
